Product Introduction

This specialized instrument set is designed for occipital fixation within the occipito-cervico-thoracic posterior rod-screw system.

It includes 20 precision instruments covering the entire surgical process from occipital plate contouring and bone channel preparation (drilling and tapping) to final screw locking.

Crafted from high-quality stainless steel, the tools offer superior corrosion resistance and biocompatibility.

Centered around the concept of “Anatomical Adaptability + Precision Fixation,” the set includes multiple sizes of drill guides, flexible  shaft tools, and dedicated shaping forceps.

It accommodates the complex anatomy of the occipital bone, such as the external occipital protuberance and clivus, to ensure a secure occipito-cervical connection.

It is indicated for posterior occipital-cervical instability, post-tumor reconstruction, and other complex occipital fixation procedures.

Features

Occipital Plate Contouring Tools

Plate Holding Forceps: Jaw profile matches the implant to prevent slippage during shaping and implantation.

Multi-size Occipital Drill Guides & Bits

  • Guides (5&7, 9&11, 13&15 mm): Compatible with various screw lengths to control drilling depth.

  • Drill Bits (3.0 & 3.5 mm) and Flexible Shaft Drills: Rigid drills suit flat surfaces like the external protuberance, while bendable drills are ideal for angled regions like the clivus, improving efficiency in complex zones.

Dedicated Cortical Bone Tapping Tools

  • Rigid and Flexible Taps (4.5 & 5.0 mm): Designed for dense occipital cortical bone with deepened helical grooves to reduce chip buildup and ensure smooth torque. Flexible taps allow angled insertion and complement the flexible drills for broad anatomical coverage.

Precision Locking Tools

  • Star Screwdriver + Counter Torque Wrench: Star tip matches occipital plate holes to prevent slippage. Counter wrench maintains plate position during screw tightening for enhanced stability.

Advantages
  • Enhanced Fixation Stability
Precision contouring with plate shaping forceps improves bone-plate conformity, reducing micro-motion. Combined with cortical taps, screw pull-out resistance is significantly improved.
  • Safe Access to Complex Anatomical Zones
Flexible drills and taps are bendable, allowing safe navigation of high-risk areas like the clivus and foramen magnum margins.
  • Operational Efficiency
The combination of universal screwdriver and counter wrench reduces screw locking time. Multi-size drill guides eliminate intraoperative interruptions due to sizing mismatch.
