Open Thoracotomy Instrument Set
The Open Thoracotomy Instrument Set is a specialized cardiovascular and thoracic surgical configuration designed to support open access to the chest cavity during thoracotomy and related procedures. It combines instruments for rib spreading and manipulation, lung handling, vascular control, surgical exposure, dissection, hemostasis and wound closure.
The configuration includes dedicated thoracic instruments such as a Burford-Finochietto rib spreader, Bailey rib contractor, Doyen and Matson rib elevators, Gluck and Bethune rib shears, Allison lung retractor and Collin-Duval lung grasping forceps. These are complemented by DeBakey vascular instruments, thoracic forceps, retractors, scissors, needle holders and general surgical instrumentation.
