What are Supercut Series Scissors?
Introduced by Hu-Friedy Instruments, The Supercut Series of Surgical Scissors is designed to minimize tissue slippage and allow the surgeon to have more control when cutting. These scissors have one of their blades finely serrated that holds on to the tissue whereas the other side blade is honed to razor sharpness, allowing a smooth controlled cut and therefore minimizing the chances of multiple attempts.
An identification sign for the supercut series scissors across the medical industry is that one side of the finger-ring handle is gold-plated while the other side is traditional stainless steel polished.
